The Moore County Driving Club's annual Christmas Parade will be held December 14, 2024. Carriages are scheduled to arrive on Broad Street at 1PM entering the northwest quadrant near the train station and will continue down Broad Street, and make a loop across the tracks and back up the other side. Participants will gather at Gallaghers Field early on December 14 to make ready for their arrival to the packed streets of spectators that come to celebrate this annual tradition. Coffee and donuts before the parade and Light Lunch served back at home base afterwards.

Christmas Parade Criteria
1) Equine must be able to handle:
· walking approx. 3 miles on pavement
· being around some traffic and large crowds
· walking twice over railroad tracks
· possibly standing still for a few minutes at a time
· staying spread out between parade entries
· traveling at a slow pace throughout the town
2) Sign the waiver and fill out the announcer’s sheet. It is helpful to download the documents from the MCDC website beforehand, or it can be done before putting-to. See form section below
3) You must be ready and in the Gallagher’s lower pasture staging area by 12:30 sharp. The order-of-go lineup will be determined at that time, and we will be in town to start the parade at 1:00 p.m.
4) Please try to stay spaced out. You will be held up by a header in front of the announcer long enough for him to read your parade bio for the public to hear.
5) There will be three categories for judging
6) Have the most fun ever and enjoy!
These things will make a wonderful, enjoyable, and crowd-pleasing parade. Remember, the Christmas Carriage Parade is not just for the club and its members; it is for all the public who also look forward to this as part of their Christmas tradition every year.
The Moore County Driving Club's Annual Christmas Party will be held December 15, 2024 11am-1pm at Jamie O'Rourkes Carriage House on Tremont Place Southern Pines. The menu includes: hash brown casserole, loaded egg casserole, shrimp and grits, peach bourbon chicken skewers with peppers and onions, veggie quiche, salad, bisquits and gravy, fruit, juice, coffee, mimosa's and bloody marys.
